Quiet Tabs helps users identify and close stale and duplicate Chrome tabs.
What Quiet Tabs accesses
Quiet Tabs accesses information about open browser tabs, including:
- tab URLs
- tab status and properties such as active, pinned, and audible
- tab last-accessed timing provided by Chrome
- user-configured exclusions and settings
How Quiet Tabs uses this information
Quiet Tabs uses this information only to provide its user-facing features, including:
- identifying tabs that have not been used recently
- identifying duplicate tabs
- showing cleanup counts in the popup and toolbar badge
- closing tabs when the user chooses a cleanup action
- applying user protections, exclusions, theme, and scope preferences
- optionally running automatic cleanup if the user enables it
Data storage
Quiet Tabs stores settings locally in Chrome storage, including cleanup preferences, protections, exclusions, theme, scope, and recent cleanup state.
Data sharing
Quiet Tabs does not sell, transfer, or share user data with third parties.
Remote services
Quiet Tabs does not send tab data, browsing activity, or settings to external servers. All processing happens locally in Chrome.
Data retention
Stored settings remain in Chrome storage until the user changes them or removes the extension.
Your choices
- enable or disable automatic cleanup
- change cleanup scope and protections
- add or remove exclusions
- remove the extension at any time
